There’s a parable in the book of Matthew chapter 25 :( v)
14-30; The Parable of the Talents. In this moral tale the Master gives his
three servants a set number of talents according to each servant’s ability. The
Master goes on a journey entrusting His servants with His money. Now two, good
and faithful, servants doubled their delegated money; whereas one wicked,
slothful servant did not. The Master returned; and to the two servants that
doubled their money the Master titled ‘good and faithful’; while the other that
did not, was deemed ‘wicked and lazy,’ and despised by His Master, and did not
share in the blessings bestowed on the other servants.
Now God, who is of course the Master, does the same he gives
us, equally; love, power and authority, a sound-mind, and the benedictions of
his Kingdom. And all he wants in Return is: Faith, our Love, the spreading of
His gospel, and obedience to Him and His Commandments.
This upcoming week, this last week in this wonderful year-the
Year of Opportune Growth, I urge you to ask yourselves: What kind of Return I
have given God this year? Which servant have I been this year?
When we create our New
Year Resolutions I propose we strive to give our Lord, our Divine creator a
better Return on His benedictions He has given to us. Let’s give to God what
belongs to God.
May God Bless You,
Jose Reyes, Sr. Pastor
