Let go of the past

Read-Exodus 13:3-5,17-18 & 14:5, 6-10,15

As the Israelites faced leaving Egypt, there were many things they had to leave behind.
Everything they knew, and everything they had grown up with, all was left behind them as they pushed through toward the Promised Land.

During this exodus they got to the point where they rebelled against God’s plan by grumbling and complaining. They had gotten to the point that they even craved after the pleasures of the past, by reliving Egypt in the fantasies of their minds. They entertained and confessed thoughts of going back to where they came from trying to convince themselves slavery was not all that bad. Was it?

Let me tell you it’s easy to give up on pressing ahead when tempted and lured by thoughts of going back to an old way of walking, talking, planning and living. It’s easy to grow weary and turn away from the Greater One’s plan. It’s easy to turn your back on your dreams and your plans, your Promised Land. But I’ve been sent to tell you God has a new plan for your life.

The struggle you are having is moving forward to the place God wants you to be. We all want success but we don’t want to pay the cost it takes to get it.

Today you have a choice. You can choose to wander in the desert, forever asking the Lord, "Why me Lord?" or you can take the next step and let go of your past.

Let go of old visions, old hopes, old thoughts all things old and of the past, things born in Egypt that keep you thinking of Egypt. Let it go!

Now, press on to the hope and glory that lies ahead with Jesus Christ! Press on to your Promised Land!

*Solomon 2:11 See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone.

The time has come to stop “wanting” and “craving” after the things of the past and start to look forward to what lies ahead in your future in this new season. God has many things in store for you and many goals that you must yet achieve.

Your issue today is that your hanging on to the hopes and visions of the past, your hoping that they will still bear fruit and hoping that they will resurrect into what you have pictured in your mind when you were back in Egypt; when you were a slave to the enemy.

* Isaiah 43:18 "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.

*Isaiah 43:19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.

* Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

This is what the Lord says to you today:

I have a far greater vision for you says the Lord, and if you would only let go of the limited vision and hope in your mind I can step in and bring the change and circumstances needed in your life right now. For it is you that restricts me with the limited vision of your mind, and not I that is holding you back. For the minute you let go and allow me to lead you into this new and uncharted territory I can bring upon you the abundant blessing that awaits you.

You have cried out to me asking what it is you are doing wrong, where it is you must go, what step you must take next to move into this vision in your heart. But my answer to you is to “Let go!”, says the Lord. To stop trying to bring to pass what only I can bring to pass. If you will just let me carry you, then you will see the plan I have put before you. But you are blinded by your own fantasies. Let them go now and allow me to lead you to the Promised Land!

I pray that the Lord would reveal His will and plan for you today. May you learn to see your life through His eyes and see that He wants to bless and prosper you in all that you set your hand too. Come on, let it go and let Jesus fill your heart with a new vision that will take you into the future!

May God bless you,
